Art Classes for Children

Swoosh! Dab! Zing! Imaginative Mixed Media Painting and Drawing for Children.

Ages 5-8

Young children are purely creative beings. This class is designed for 5-8 year old boys and girls to cultivate their natural language in the visual arts and is a fun, hands-on exploration providing an opportunity for imaginations to soar and self-esteem to blossom. We will utilize a variety of drawing and painting processes and materials including paints, chalk, pastels, paste, rubbings, mixed media collage, stamping, book arts and more. Each child will work at his or her own level, developing a personal style and creating inventive projects each week based on our investigation of great master techniques, textures, line, color, shape, pattern, light and shadow, form and function, still life and more. We will provide smock t-shirts to wear over clothes, but remember to dress for messy art exploration.

Classes will begin in January 2008 at The Art Studio, Brookside (Randolph, NJ). Dates and time to be announced soon.
